Full message
Dear Culés,
I wear the colors and sweater of FC Barcelona with great pride, either on the field or beyond, both in moments of success and in difficult times. Today is a tough day for me on a personal level.
Physically and athletic I feel in a very good shape, although unfortunately I am not free from pain. After intensive discussions with the FC Barcelona Medical Team and external experts, the fastest and safest way is to fully recover via a back operation.
After my last back surgery, I returned to the field for almost 2 months after 66 days; This time the doctors are of the opinion that about three months will be needed as a precautionary measure to prevent risks.
At the emotional level it hurts me a lot not to be able to support the team today, but luckily the rehabilitation is manageable and the path to return is clear.
I will keep you informed of my recovery, and I want to sincerely thank you, dear culés, forever by my side.
Don't worry, I'm back!
Yours,
Marc
