Terence Crawford and Canelo Alvarez break their silences as Jake Paul fight talks break down

Terence Crawford went to social media for the first time since landing one of the greatest fighting of the year.

Until last night it seemed that a deal was closed for Jake Paul and Canelo Alvarez to meet each other in a Cinco de Mayo showdown. But in the eleventh hour, Boxing Supremo Turki Alalshikh made a new deal that would protect the future of the Super-Middenweight champion for the next four fights.

Instead of looking at Paul in May, Alvarez will now take a repayment fight in Riyadh before going to Las Vegas in September to be confronted with Pound-for-Pound number one Crawford. He will then fight twice in 2026 as part of a deal with four fights, leaving Paul in the cold in his search for a big fight.

As recently as a few hours ago it started to look as if Canelo Alvarez would make his long -awaited move to Cruiserweight to face Jake Paul in a bizarre collision. The social media star has been calling for years to fight and it seemed that Netflix would land the fight.

However, as with everything else in boxing in recent years, Turki Alshikh had the last word. In the next two years he has discussed a huge range of four fights that will bring the iconic multiple champion of multiple weight to Riyad in the next two years.

But the crown jewel of the deal is a date in September in Las Vegas where Alvarez encounters the current pound-for-pound King of Boxing Terence Crawford. The Super-Belater Champion will make a big weight in weight to make the super fight happen, probably at allegiant stage.

Immediately after the deal was closed, Turki Alshikh came to social media to announce that the big fight was on, as well as three visits to Alvarez to Riyad. He shared a video on X in which he described the details to fans, including the big fight by Las Vegas'.

“Don't tie the lion,” Alalshikh wrote in a tweet afterwards. “Four fighting for Canelo with Riyadh season … The deal is closed … A lion does not lose any sleep about the opinion of a sheep … Fear the lion, not the jungle.”

And in the answers to one of the many tweets of the Boks Supremo, Crawford broke his silence over the deal and fans told: “I wait for Canelo in September and go shocked the world in the Riyadh season!”

Canelo Alvarez responds to the news about Turki Alenhikh Deal

For years, Alvarez has been able to withstand the allure of Big Saudi Arabic money and are stuck with PBC's efforts in America. But after the meeting with Turki Alalshikh in London last month, it started to look as if he were finally convinced.

However, a final attempt by the most valuable promotions by Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian, together with a Netflix deal, threatened his plans. It seemed that he went in the direction of a cruiserweight collision with the YouTuber, who was last facing Mike Tyson, but they continued to deny that a deal had been closed.

Alvarez has since been brought to social media with the retweeting of Alalshikh's The Ring Magazine and has made his own first comment and told him, “Let's go brother.”
