On September 13 a Dream Matchup will finally take place in what is probably the biggest fight of the year.
Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford may have one common opponent, but for years it seemed potential to see them go against each other unlikely.
Over time, the weight differences between them have been reduced, where 'Bud' continues to collect more belts and awards while he went through multiple weight classes.
While Mike Tyson encouraged Crawford not to strive for this fight, the American has been testing himself against one of the top stars of the sport for a while.
It is not to be denied that it is a really super fight between two greats of all time, but neither of them has earned praise for their recent versions.

Canelo Alvarez opposite Terence Crawford is exactly the kind of matchup that box fans dream of.
Both men have shown a remarkable capacity to shine under the brightest lights and to deliver their best performance when the deployment is highest.
They are also both criticized for their recent versions in the ring that fans did not leave exactly on the edge of their seats.
Fortunately they are such huge stars and this is such a dream conflict that it will probably not have much impact on the fight itself, although Crawford recently acknowledged that they both have a point to prove.
In a recent interview with Boxing News, 'Bud' was asked if he was able to gain confidence of Alvarez's heavily criticized victory over William Scull, where a lack of activity of both men led to a new record that was set for the least bumps in compubox history thrown in a 12-round fight.
Crawford replied by saying that he could be in a similar position after his last fight with Israil Madrimov, was eventually more competitive than many expected after he had gone the full 12 rounds for the first time since 2016.
“Many people criticized my last performance, so you know what I mean? We have to put it both, I think.”
