John Terry brought back to James Maddison after the midfielder of Tottenham had focused an excavation on him after the final of the Europa League of Spurs on Wednesday at Manchester United.
Maddison missed the final because of a knee injury, but was heavily involved in Tottenham's post-match parties when he arrived at the field to lift the trophy with his teammates while wore the entire kit.
The 28-year-old fluctuated in full set, even though he was not called memories of Terry who did the same when he was suspended for Chelsea's Champions League triumph in 2012.
After Maddison went to Instagram after Wednesday's final, Maddison poked the pleasure in himself and Terry while placing a photo of himself and Brennan Johnson with the trophy next to the caption: 'To Kit. Full @johnterry.26 mode. Something to say tonight john? '
It was not long before Terry responded when he reminded Maddison that he won 17 career trophies at Chelsea and the performance of Spurs in the final.
“I remember my first trophy, ah blessing them,” Terry started.
He added: 'Remove the tequila. Great season of your guys, you all have to be proud! 16 (trophies) to go. After that implementation I think you have a chance. You just have to live 900 years. '
Terry also posted a photo of his personal trophy cabinet at home, with five Premier League titles, five FA Cups and the Champions League.
Over the years, the ex-blues captain has made no secret of his contempt for Spurs and enjoyed denying Chelsea's London rivals of winning the Premier League in 2016.
After the 'Battle of the Bridge' when Chelsea came from two goals against Tottenham to secure a 2-2 draw and to protect Leicester the title, Terry went to Instagram the next day to write: 'What a match that was last night. Great character of the players to come back from 2-0.
'The atmosphere was incredible and we know how much that result means that supporters means. 27 years #notonmyshift. '
He could not do anything to prevent Tottenham from ending their 17-year-old trophy-dried on Wednesday, although, while the men of Ange Postecoglou claimed a 1-0 victory thanks to the goal of Brennan Johnson in the final phase of the first half.
The Noord -London club then bravely defended in the second half to hold their advantage, so that emotional scenes were evoked at the last whistle.
After earning his second career trophy after he also won the FA Cup with Leicester in 2021, Maddison saw cuddling club captain Son Heung-Min, with both men close to the tears.
United Legend Roy Keane was then in Maddison's Shooting Line during a hilarious CBS port interview after criticizing the playmaker earlier this season.
“I wasn't going to do interviews, but I heard that Roy Keane was in the studio tonight,” the Spurs star joked.
He was then confronted with phone calls from Michah Richards to do his characteristic darts party, to which he agreed with Gusto and added: “Oh I will, Micah, with pleasure!”
But Keane laughed the last one. “I always said he was a good player, but he must be more consistent,” he started. “And he played well tonight!”
