Aljamain Sterling believes that he knows what went wrong with Alex Pereira on UFC 313.
The UFC Light Heavyweight Champion No More is Alex Pereira after his fourth title defense against Magomed Ankalaev last weekend. Pereira had a strong start in round 1, but was eventually overtaken by the striking and Takedown threat from Ankalaev.
Ankalaev became the first man who pushed a full 25 minutes with Pereira, the champion Degroever by unanimous decision and his undefeated record took on light weight.
At the end of his title line, the powerful Pereira did not look his usual self. 'Patan' hesitated to sometimes throw Ankalaev who for the most part led the striking battle.

Aljamain Sterling Puntpoints Why Alex Pereira lost on UFC 313
So, what exactly had Pereira bumped into this version? Former UFC Bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling says that there are a 'few factors'.
“Pereira fights way too often,” said Sterling on his YouTube channel. “Three title defenses in seven months. That is insanity to do that. And it's not as if his fighting were Pitter-Patter fights. You could say that Jamahal Hill won was not damage. Okay, cool. I understand that. The Jiri [fight]He has suffered some damage in that. Then the Khalil Rountree fight was a big fight in which he took some good photos …
“There you go out, add to the fact that he bounces back from these fights and he goes back to the gym almost one, maybe two weeks later. You aggravate that with the number of times he spares. When does Pereira give himself his body and his brain and his chin a chance to take a break and simply recover? “
Last year Pereira only closed in three title defenses and sealed the record of Ronda Rousey: the fastest hunter to reach 3 title defenses (175 days).
Aljamain Sterling begs Alex Pereira to rest
Pereira's last successful defending defense came to Khalil Rountree Jr. five months ago. On UFC 307, despite the victory.
“I don't think he gives himself enough time between fighting to give the best versions of himself every time,” Sterling explained.
'If you get another man then [Ankalaev] He is going to tie it stylistically, who is also a Southpaw, Khalil Rountree was a Southpaw, also gave him a number of difficult challenges in that fight.
'I think he might have had to take a little more time [off]. But anyway, limits from Ankalaev, “said Sterling.
38 will be in July, who knows how long Alex Pereira wants to wait on the sidelines before he returns.
