Cristiano Ronaldo chose five young people who he believed to conquer the football world Stormender in November 2015 – and his judgments were incredibly accurate.
Admittedly, the selection of Ronaldo may have not included any surprises, but all five of his choices have won trophies and so far proven their talent.
We have profiled all the choices from Ronaldo to see if they live up to the hype.
Okay, Hazard was already a Premier League champion when Ronaldo tipped him for greatness. It was the football equivalent of listening to 'Illmatic' and explaining, on balance, NAS was a fairly good rapper.
But the Belgian international continued to demonstrate why he was one of the biggest attackers in world football at its peak.
Hazard played an important role in leading Chelsea to another competition title in 2017, scored the winner in the FA Cup final 2018 and perhaps had his best individual season under Maurizio Sarri in 2018-19.
Real Madrid tempted that form to pay € 100 million, after which the form of Hazard of a cliff fell.
Injury did not help, but the playmaker looked a shadow of the player who once illuminated English football.
Another safe gamble from Ronaldo.
Neymar had already won La Liga and the Champions League with Barcelona before he praised the Portugal International.
His status in Brazil also gave the impression that he would replace Christ the savior for too long.
Neymar was tired of playing playing in the shadow of Lionel Messi and chose to leave Camp Nou in 2017 and moved to PSG for a record -breaking compensation of £ 200 million.
His versions in France have been largely good – the forward scored 118 goals in 173 performances for PSG.
But he never won the Champions League with the Ligue 1 Giants and finished second place in 2020.
And although he has won many trophies, the best balloon d'Or finishes that Neymar can brag a few thirds placed efforts (in 2015 and 2017).
Neymar has undoubtedly been one of the biggest stars of his generation, but there remains a feeling that his talent has become somewhat unfulfilled.
After he left Manchester United in 2012, Pogba was in the middle of his imperial phase in Juventus when Ronaldo recorded him in his shortlist.
The midfielder helped Juve to win four consecutive Series A titles during his time in Italy, with his looting midfield runs and an exceptional ability to see a pass to win a large number of personal awards.
United spent a club record £ 89 million to bring it back to Old Trafford in 2016. Pogba has delivered quality flashes, but never felt inevitable on a consistent basis for the club and his departure in 2022.
On the other hand, Pogba was always impressive for France and his brilliant performances on the World Cup 2018 helped his country to win the tournament.
Odegaard was only 16 years old and was probably the left-most field choice made by Ronaldo and The Norway International now has shown how good he is.
After he came to Real Madrid in January 2015, Odegaard was sent by the Spanish giants on a series of loans.
He spent two seasons in the Netherlands with Heerenveen and Vitesse before enjoying a productive spell at Real Sociedad in 2019-2020.
But the midfielder still had trouble breaking in in the Madrid team and left for Arsenal in 2021, initially on loan and then in a £ 30 million deal.
Now club captain at the Emirates, Odegaard has settled as the Creator on his part.
Although it does not yet match the success of Hazard or Neymar, the 26-year-old is now established as one of the best midfielders in Europe.
Depay had just signed for Manchester United in 2015 after he became the top scorer in the Eredivisie last season.
Unfortunately his time was at Old Trafford Underwhelming – until the point where it is easy to forget that the attacker once played for the Red Devils.
Nederlands International restored itself as one of Europe's elite attacking players in Lyon for a fatal move to Barcelona.
He is now at Corinthians in Brazil.
