Barcelona are nervously hoping they will find a way to sign Dani Olmo for the second half of the season, aware that with the deadline already passed he has a clause in his contract that will allow him to leave for free. His agent Andy Bara has stated that he will remain at Barcelona regardless, but there is no shortage of clubs willing to pitch why he should change his mind.
According to Sport, in the Premier League alone, Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea are keeping a close eye on whether Olmo becomes available. Former Spain manager Luis Enrique will be more than aware of his talents, and Paris Saint-Germain are also interested, as are Bayern Munich, one of the sides interested in him over the summer. Perhaps the most intriguing of all is Atletico Madrid, which has made big profits from signing former Barcelona players.
Olmo seems determined to stay at Barcelona, and until that changes it remains a moot point. However, Olmo could make a huge profit from the operation if he were to sign for another club for free. Not only would he likely be paid high wages and a large signing bonus, he would also be owed the full €48 million of his six-year contract with Barcelona.
