Crystal Palace has asked about Sporting Lisbon's £ 40 million with a defender Ousmane Diomande and has had positive conversations about a new contract for striker Jean-Philippe Mateta.
Palace are confronted with competition for Diomande, 21, which would be seen as a replacement for Marc Guehi.
