FC Barcelona continues to maintain as Plan A before the start of their home journey in the competition championship the option to play in the Spotify Camp Nou.
The efforts of the Barça board go in that direction and, as long as they do not see that it is impossible to get there because the progress of the works is that all the parameters that the city council requires in terms of safety, they will retain that position. After they even announced with President Laporta's collaboration that the summer tournament would be the competition with which they would return to the Spotify Camp Nou, the lack of permits eventually put the club back down and correct their first prediction, with the wear of their image that this entailed. And if we are talking about a plan B, because MD was able to learn from club sources, the option of the Estadi Johan Cruyff to make his debut in La Liga against Valencia on 13 or 14 is completely excluded. The reason is heavy: the Ciutat Esportiva Stadium where Barça Atlètic and the women's team usually do not have the minimum capacity needed to organize competitions in the first division, which is 8,000 seats.
In particular, the Johan Cruyff has a capacity of 6,000 seats and is therefore classified as category 3. And the only fields where competitions can be played in the first division are those of category 1 and category 2. Moreover, the club has not considered to increase extra tribunes to the Johan Cruyff at any time.
Plan B for the Spotify Camp Nou is still the Lluís Company Olympic Stadium. As MD has already reported, a concert by the American Singer Post Malone was planned on 12 September, which can be an insurmountable obstacle for Barça to play their league match against Valencia. However, the pace of ticket sales for this concert is not very high and can be moved to another smaller stage and thus release the Montjuïc Stadium. FC Barcelona and BSM, the company that manages the municipal facilities of Barcelona, have permanent contact and the possibility to return to Montjuïc has already been raised, although for the time being as an alternative to the Barça Coliseum.
