Monterrey is preparing for opening its club World Cup campaign from 2025 against Inter Milan – a team whose schedule value is spectacular that of the Liga MX Club spectacular dwarf.
So much so, indeed, that inter -defender Alessandro Bastoni himself is worth more than the entire group of Rayados.

According to Transfermarkt, Bastoni has a market value of € 80 million ($ 92.4 million). At the age of 26, the Italy defender has won silverware at both club and national team level and is a key figure in the immediate future of the Nerazzuri.
Surprisingly, even with players such as Sergio Ramos, Sergio Canales, Lucas Ocampos and Jesús Manuel Corona in the ranks of Monterrey, the total value of the schedule of the Mexicans reaches only € 71.5 million ($ 82.6 million), per transfer market.
That is less than a tenth of the estimated total market value of the Inter Roster of € 739.8 million ($ 855.3 million).
A revealing gap in value
Bastoni is not the most expensive football player in the world, nor the most valuable in his position.
The fact that his individual appreciation that surpasses a whole League MX club, one of the most economically powerful in Mexico, emphasizes the gap that still exists between elite football in Europe and the competitive and commercial level of the Mexican game.
Rayados, one of the Liga MX teams with the highest investment in the past decade, has compiled an experienced selection with internationally renowned names and various national team players. Yet none of them is more than € 6 million ($ 6.9 million) in individual value, per transfer market.
With 28 players and an average age of 28.6 years, Rayados is an adult team that is built to compete for titles in the here and now. In terms of value growth and potential sale potential, however, their team can hardly compare with a club like Inter, which, in addition to titles, could generate considerable income if the figures such as Bastoni, Nicolo Barella or Lautaro Martínez could discharge.
