The fight is on! The Premier League clubs battling for $100 million striker

The epicenter of interest in Swedish football's most popular sport appears to be rumbling in England, as Sporting prepares to make a bid.

Viktor Gyökeres is set to become one of the hottest transfer stories of the summer. The Swedish forward has made waves over the past two seasons and attracted the interest of numerous clubs keen to secure his talents. Sporting Portugal president Frederico Varandas is asking interested teams for a hefty $100 million fee for the Scandinavian forward.

Which teams want Gyökeres?

This figure is especially achievable for Premier League teams. The German Sky Sports reports that two clubs are already competing for Gyökeres this summer: Manchester United, led by their new dynamic coach Rúben Amorim, and Manchester City, with Hugo Viana in the technical secretariat. Both clubs recognize Gyökeres' potential. However, the deal is not easy as Sporting Portugal remains steadfast in its demands. Nevertheless, there is optimism in Britain that Lisbon could eventually accept bids of around $70 million.

Gyökeres is a dream signing for many Premier League teams. Chelsea and Arsenal are also on his radar. Arsenal's Mikel Arteta is struggling without a central striker to strengthen the lineup. With Gabriel Jesus not fitting into their plans, the Emirates are considering another Swedish talent, Newcastle's Alexander Isak, as an alternative.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are showing interest, especially as their current strikers, Jackson and Nkunku, along with veteran Marc Guiu, are looking to strengthen. A new number nine like Gyökeres could be the perfect fit as the team is keen to improve their attacking options.

The race is on and Gyökeres is expected to leave Sporting this summer of 2025. Competition in Manchester and London is expected to be fierce. Pep Guardiola at Manchester City is looking to provide competition for Erling Haaland and fill the void left by Julián Álvarez. At Old Trafford, Rúben Amorim is the main advocate for Gyökeres, although the team already has attackers such as Hojlund and Zirkzee. Anthony's sale could be crucial in funding the hunt for the Swedish star. The transfer saga has officially begun.
