Cub Swanson's mother begged him to stop fighting
On Saturday night at UFC Tampa, Cub Swanson scored another stunning victory, knocking Billy Quarantillo unconscious with a devastating knockout.
The bout, which ended via a gruesome right hand in the third round, earned the fighter a standing ovation and a Fight of the Night bonus.
After such a sublime performance, the fans were completely divided. On the one hand, it's clear that the formidable fighter still has moments of magic left in his tank, but on the other hand, victory would be the perfect way out.
At the post-fight press conference, Swanson seemed equally conflicted about what to do, revealing that his mother once begged him to retire 11 years ago after he suffered a nasty injury.

He said: “My mother and my stepmother are both very close to me. [They] begged me to stop fighting in 2011 when I broke my face. I could have stopped then. I could have stopped at any moment. But I always felt like I had more to do, and right now I feel like I've done a lot.
“It must be something very exciting [to get me to fight again]. We'll see what happens.”
