Chuck Liddell explains why he learned to fight
In February 2024 'The Iceman' appeared on the unmistakable show with Joe Buck.
During their 48 -minute conversation, Buck brought a story to the Formative Years of Liddell.
The mother of the UFC legend had previously revealed that her famous son was being bullied during day care.
Liddell refused to defend himself because his mother told him he was not allowed to touch people.
Everything changed when an employee from the daycare center decided to intervene.
“My mother told me that I can't fight or hit someone,” said Liddell.
“I wouldn't do it. My mother said I can't do it, so I think I'll just sit here and take it.
“It happened a few times and he finally called my mother to talk to her.
“He said,” You have to defend him, we can't be there every time something happens. “
“So she took me to my grandfather and let him teach me some straight punches.
“I start throwing bumps and, what defends myself, the rest is history.”
Chuck Liddell remembers 3 versus 1 fight
After his first interaction with a bully, Liddell was much better able to defend himself and others.
The 55-year-old recently appeared on the podcast of Jake Shields' Fight Back to talk about his life and career.
After he had mentioned Alex Pereira as his favorite active UFC star, Liddell discussed his street fighting days, making him play the hero when he met three men who beat up a helpless victim.
“I remember that I was once in Sloan and I drive through the street. I pulled a red light and I saw these three boys hit this guy on the floor, “the UFC icon remembered.
“I just put my car in the park, got out, ran towards him and kicked a man. I had held one man to the next he held. Had his hand behind his back.
“This guy came running and I just kicked him. Pop! I have him straight in the chin and he just went to sleep.
“I did quite a few fights, it was very nice there. We had many crazy times. '
