The secret WhatsApp message Barcelona president Laporta deleted about Dani Olmo

The Barcelona president sent a message that opened the door for the RFEF to validate Olmo's registration.

Joan Laporta has not yet given up on getting Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor back into the team.

The Blaugrana president caused a stir late in the evening by posting a bombshell message on his WhatsApp at around 9pm, only to delete it shortly afterwards. However, Jijantes' team managed to take a screenshot of the post before it was deleted.

The message was long and detailed, explaining that the RFEF (Royal Spanish Football Federation) had agreed to all of FC Barcelona's arguments to validate the registrations of two of its players.

Laporta's secret message

The full text of the message reads as follows:

“The RFEF, after considering FC Barcelona's arguments, agrees that Article 130.2 of the RFEF Regulations does not apply to the cases of Olmo and Pau Víctor. This is because the departure of these players was not the result of the club's decision – as the article states – but due to factors beyond the club's control and which are contrary to its intentions. There is no doubt that both the club and the players want to remain part of the FC Barcelona squad throughout the season. This interpretation is consistent with the clear purpose of the article, which aims to maintain the stability of player rosters.”

LaLiga gives Barcelona the green light

Shortly after this broke, news broke that LaLiga had confirmed that Barcelona had returned to the 1:1 ratio required to sign the players in question. While this has not been confirmed by the RFEF, it appears that things will ultimately end on a positive note for Olmo and Pau Víctor.

For the time being, Barcelona has won the Spanish Super Cup. They will play against Athletic Club in Saudi Arabia (Wednesday, January 8, 2:00 PM ET), where they will fight to reach the final against Real Madrid or Mallorca.
