In recent weeks, Real Madrid has increasingly frustrated with La Liga referees, referring to various decisions that they believe against them. Their annoyance flared up again on Saturday during the 1-1 draw to Osasuna, with the big conversation point shown the first half of a red card to Jude Bellingham.
Bellingham was sent for alleged curse to referee Jose Luis Munuera Montero, although he has denied this and claims that he is being demanded from the civil servant. Carlo Ancelotti has also supported his player, and the chance is that a call will be launched in the coming days by Real Madrid. There was also an accident about the punishment awarded to Osasuna after an error by Eduardo Camavinga in Ante Budimir in the second half.
The club itself has announced its anger in recent weeks after controversial non-red cards and penal prizes against Espanyol and Atletico Madrid. They recently submitted a highly formulated letter to the Spanish football federation in which the referee was criticized at the location, and on the back of the Osasuna match, their anger seems to have grown alone.
Diario has published a report with insight from the dressing room of Real Madrid, with different players saying that “she (the referees) fuck us”. They also have a “dissatisfaction with La Liga” on the back of these recent incidents, and just like the club itself, they are not happy with the technical committee of referees (CTA).
Players have also claimed that the recent controversies have been 'textbook facility' against Real Madrid. In the meantime, the fact that Atletico Madrid was unable to jump to the first place in La Liga “is not considered a comfort”.
It will be interesting to see if Real Madrid takes further steps to express their frustration and dissatisfaction, after sending that letter to the federation a little less than two weeks ago.
