‘They’re wrong’… Ian Machado Garry explains why he should get a title shot despite losing his last fight

Ian Machado Garry is furious not to get the title shot opposite Belal Muhammad on UFC 315.

UFC Welterweight Competier Ian Machado Garry did the promotion a pleasure by going up in the short term to see the undefeated Shavkat Rakhmonov on UFC 310 in December. After Rakhmonov could not fight this year against Belal Muhammad due to an injury, Garry expected to be the next man, but it did not go according to plan.

Muhammad will be confronted against Jack della Maddalena in his first welterweight title defense on UFC 315 in Montreal. Maddalena, unbeaten in his UFC official period, returns after completing the former title -Uitdager Gilbert Burns on UFC 299.

Ian Machado Garry 'was furious' after UFC 315 Main Event was leaked

In a recent message to his Instagram, Garry went on the main event of UFC 315 and did not get the title shot.

“Why don't I fight for the title? I had a chat with my agent,” said Garry. “I called him when he told me about this news, and I was furious – to this day. I had a no. 1 candidate where the man (Rakhmonov) now needs the reconstruction of the knee and is out for a year. But you don't know that I didn't injure it. For a year, and they think it was missing.

“The world title fight was intended as Shavkat Rakhmonov who takes on Belal Muhammad, but Shavkat was apparently injured,” Garry continued. “I wonder why that happened? Now they draw a man who did not fight in a year because he had an operation on his forearm because he broke it in his last fight, has not fought and has not been active. So, they have given the Jack della Maddalena because I get rid of a loss.

Before the loss for Rakhmonov, Garry won recent victories over Geoff Neal, Neil Magny and Michael 'Venom' page. The former Cage Warriors -striking is potentially one victory removed from a title shot after the booking of UFC 315, and he introduces himself later this year.

UFC London Winner Kan Ian Garry, Shavkat Rakhmonov for the next title shot

Makes things worse for Garry, the winner of the UFC London Main Event this weekend between Leon Edwards and Sean Brady could jump for a title shot. Edwards returns after losing the belt to Muhammad on UFC 304 last July, and Brady is on an impressive win -streak.

Garry lets that wait in the wings for his next potential opponent while he wants to go back to the title mix. Garry has repeatedly called Colby Covington, but that fight may not be on his radar after Covington's most recent defeat against Joaquin Buckley.

Garry believes that he deserves to be arranged for Edwards in the ranking of Welterweight, despite a loss in his last fight against Rakhmonov. He almost tapped Rakhmonov on UFC 310 in a wild fifth round that clambers between the two former teammates.

Garry has a chip on his shoulder after he died by the UFC buyer for the next title shot. Expect the Irish star to fight furiously in his next Octagon performance.
