Thiago Silva and Neymar are former teammates of the Brazilian national team and played together at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, the 2018 World Cup in Russia and the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
At the 2014 World Cup, due to Thiago Silva's suspension and Neymar's serious injury, Brazil suffered a humiliating 1–7 defeat to Germany in the semi-finals.
