Benoit Saint-Denis will finally fight at UFC 315, but fans are not happy with his new booking from the opponent.
UFC Lightweight Competier Benoit Saint-Denis's originally planned opponent, Joel Alvarez, withdrew from UFC 315 last weekend due to an unknown injury. After the news was broken about the withdrawal of Alvarez, many wondered whether or not the knockout artist Saint-Denis would stay on the UFC 315 card or whether the matchmakers would save him for another event.
It was a big blow only a few days ahead of UFC 315, which marks the return of the promotion to Montreal after a long absence. It was an important chance for Saint-Denis after the suffering of back-to-back knockout defeats in 2024.
Despite a top 15 lightweight offer to step into Saint-Denis, the French star will be confronted with an important downgrade in competition at UFC 315.

Fans are extremely critical of the new booking by Benoit Saint-Denis for UFC 315
As reported by TSN's Aaron Brandsteter, Saint-Denis will be confronted with 26-Fight Veteran Kyle Prepolec in a lightweight fight on UFC 315. Prepolec has fought twice before in the UFC Octagon, which means that unanimous decisions fall to Austin Hubbard and Nordin.
Prepolec would be confronted with PFL veteran Michael Dufort on Friday during a Samourai MMA event before he received the call to get Saint-Denis on UFC 315.
After the news was broken about Saint-Denis vs. Prepolec, Vecht fans were not happy.
“This is terrible considering the potential options available,” a fan responded to X.
“Free victory for BSD,” said another.
“Fair play for him, but he's good there in years.”
“F— You [UFC]. You Rommelen Benoit vs. Rebecki. Benoit in 1. “
“Who is that guy?”
“Say no to Gamrot and then take this fight. SMH.”
“They do everything to make Benoit win a victory.”
“Gosh, I am Canadian and even I have never heard of this guy.”
“Tell me that this is a joke, please.”
“I can't even imagine what the opportunities will look like.”
Saint-Denis wants to return from the first losing series of his MMA career last year after losing Dustin Poirier and Renato Moicano. For his recent struggles, Saint-Denis won five consecutive fights, including finishes by Ismael Bonfim and Thiago Moises.
Although the UFC official period from Prepolec did not impress, he played a role in this current chapter of his career. He has won four of his last five fights and is fresh from three brutal knockout victories.
UFC Hall of Famer praised 'complete package' Belal Muhammad prior to UFC 315
After the position of Saint-Denis on the UFC 315 was secured, the matchmakers can focus their attention on an intriguing map on Saturday evening. UFC 315 is led by UFC Welterweight champion Belal Muhammad's first title defense against Jack della Maddalena.
In anticipation of UFC 315, Muhammad received huge praise from UFC Hall of Famer Georges St-Pierre, which he chases in discussing the great Welterweights of all time. St-Pierre called Muhammad a 'complete package' and compared his style with the person he demonstrated during his Hall of Fame career.
If something happens to the UFC 315 Main Event, Ian Machado Garry is on site to serve as the back -up hunter, although Mohammed rejects that he will be needed this weekend. Garry recently defeated Carlos Prates in UFC Kansas City.
