Thomas Partey has been strongly associated with an exit from Arsenal after approaching the end of his contract without agreement – and has claimed a report that he will leave after the conversations have been set,
Arsenal -midfielder Thomas Partey has been set to leave the club on a free transfer after conversations about a new contract have reached a “full standstill”, according to reports.
Partey has been to the Emirates in the last five seasons after he had had at Atletico Madrid for around £ 45 million and he continued with 167 performances.
He was an important player in the failed offer of Arsenal to win the Premier League title and Champions League last season after 31 starts in the competition, but now the Ghana International seems to be on his way to the outside.
As reported by ESPN, the negotiations of Arsenal have been demolished with Pedey and is now expected to leave when his deal ends on 30 June.
Barcelona is linked for a dive for Parey, while Turkish parties can also be interested in breaking him for free, the report adds.
It comes at a time when Arsenal is expected to sign Martin Zubimendi in the first instance, although Arteta has insisted that he still wants Parey in the team and the news will be a disappointment for the Spaniard.
When Arteta was asked if he felt that the midfielder earned a new deal last season, he said: “Yes. I think it is consistency that it has been his best season. The way he played, played his availability, has been exceptional and he is a really important player for us.”
Pedey also spoke about his future this month because he stated that his family would influence any decision about his future – but said he would leave it to Arsenal and his agent.
“I think the first is where you are happy and where do you feel at home,” he said. “At the end of the day you have been to football, you have been to different teams.
“Then it's about what your next goal is what you want to achieve afterwards. You still have to look at all this and at the end of the day we all have a family that needs money, this is our mind.
“We are not getting younger. There are many things that you now have to look with a family, where you want them to be happy. When you are young, you just play everywhere.
“I am an Arsenal fan, I can't decide anything and just have to leave it to my agent and the club. I just want to enjoy football.”
