Jude Bellingham goes back to Real Madrid, after an important week away from England under new boss Thomas Tuchel.
Bellingham completed 90 minutes in a no. 10 roll in the first match of Tuchel, while England rode a 2-0 Wembley victory on Albania.
Tuchel was brought in with the clear goal of winning the FIFA World Cup in 2026 and a victory of the opening qualification could be the first step on the road.
The former Chelsea -Baas is expected to make some daring changes in England – both tactically and in staff – but the place of Bellingham looks unmoved.
Since the beginning of 2025, Bellingham has arranged more in an advanced position under Carlo Ancelotti with 11 goals scored in all competitions.
Tuchel, however, is a stickler for positional discipline, and he indicated that Bellingham still has much to learn about playing in his system.
“He is always ready to give everything, but we must also help him so that he can play more economically within a structure and still have the same impact on the game, or perhaps even more impact,” according to quotes from The Guardian.
“We must ensure that the leaders – and he is one of the leaders – and the most important players, all walking in the same direction and playing in the same rhythm and helping each other.
“And sometimes play a little more disciplined to save some energy for those decisive moments in competitions.”
Fans of England will probably have a mixed reaction to Tuchel's comments, because the goals of Bellingham played a key role in their push to the final of UEFA Euro 2024, before they lose in Spain in Munich.
However, he only scored three goals in an international tournament, with only one scored in a knockout match in one of those competitions.
