Thomas Tuchel is pictured at Anfield as he watches Liverpool vs Man United

New England manager Thomas Tuchel was present at Anfield when Liverpool faced Manchester United.

Tuchel, who officially started his new job on January 1, attended his third Premier League match of the weekend.

On Saturday, Tuchel watched the early kick-off between Tottenham and Newcastle and was then present when Brighton faced Arsenal in the evening.

Only four English players started the clash between Liverpool and United.

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Curtis Jones started for Liverpool, with Harvey Elliott and Jarell Quansah on the bench.

Meanwhile, Harry Maguire and Kobbie Mainoo were named in United's starting line-up, while youngster Toby Collyer was among the substitutes.

Tuchel will take charge of England's World Cup qualifier at home to Albania on March 21, with another home match against Latvia three days later. Andorra and Serbia are also in England's qualifying group.

Dominic Solanke, who has three caps for England, opened the scoring for Tottenham against Newcastle, while Anthony Gordon equalized for the visitors.

Other Englishmen to play for Tottenham included Brandon Austin, Djed Spence, Archie Gray and James Maddison.

Meanwhile, Tino Livramento, Lewis Hall, Jacob Murphy, Harvey Barnes, Joe Willock, Sean Longstaff and Lloyd Kelly were all involved at Newcastle.

Later in the day, Ethan Nwaneri, who currently represents England at Under-19 level, scored for Arsenal against Brighton but later suffered an injury that forced him to withdraw at half-time. Declan Rice was also in action.

The only English player to play for Brighton was Adam Webster, who came on as a substitute.
