England -Baas Thomas Tuchel has revealed that he spoke privately with Phil Foden and Marcus Rashford after criticizing their lack of impact against Albania.
Friday's collision marked a new era for the national team, because Tuchel led the side out for the first time since the successor to Sir Gareth Southgate as a permanent manager in January.
The German enjoyed a winning start of life in his new role when his side strolled to a comfortable 2-0 victory at Wembley.
Myles Lewis-Skelly marked his senior international debut with a goal before Captain Harry Kane doubled England's lead.
Despite the victory, Tuchel was not impressed by Foden and Rashford's lack of effectiveness of the flanks, saying: 'We hope for more impact in these positions.
'More dribbling and more aggressively runs to the box. In general, that was missing. The opportunities come from the small runs behind the line. They were not as decisive as they can be. '
The former Chelsea boss has revealed that he spoke with both players and claims that he is satisfied with their efforts.
“I spoke to both of them in front of the group,” Tuchel added. 'They know that I appreciate the effort, especially from the ball. We can see in the figures how much effort they have made to defend high and in the opposite, also in their sprinting.
“Marcus had many runs when we had the ball where we didn't see him, where we didn't use it. He might have bad luck with the timing. Phil may not find the momentum he can have.
'Both are very positive and have the right to be positive, they know exactly what we want from them. Ideally, we will bring them to more 1V1 situations and they must have the confidence to take the 1V1s.
'Phil needs more close connections with a no. 10 than we could offer in this competition. Marcus created a big chance for Jude Bellingham. Out of the ball was the trouble there and that is what counts. '
Foden and Rashford get another chance to impress Tuchel when England organizes Latvia on Sunday evening.
