Three PL heavyweights make the first moves for Lyon forward Cherki

Premier League clubs Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly inquired about the signing of Lyon Middenbielder Rayan Cherki.

This season, the French Youth International has impressed 12 goals and 19 assists in all competitions – including a stopping time equalizer against Manchester United in the first stage of their quarterfinals of the Europa League.

The 21-year-old was about to join Paris Saint-Germain last summer before he chose to sign a new deal with his boys' club.

Although he stayed in Lyon, Cherki has not been removed from a potential movement.

On Sunday asked if he would feel good in the PSG dressing room, he replied: 'Oh yes absolutely, I know them all.

'Ousmane [Dembele] & Bradley [Barcola] His good friends of mine. If you have good chemistry on the field, it also shows off the field. '

But the finalists of the Champions League, who have dumped Arsenal, Liverpool and Aston Villa from the competition of this season, are no longer interested in his signature and, according to Le Parisien Premier League parties, are available in a prime position, with the star available for just £ 19 million (€ 22.5 m).

Cherki came to Lyon in 2010 and spent nine years in their youth ranks, before he made his first senior performance at the age of 16 in 2019.

But Lyon suffered from financial issues and received a transfer ban and a provisional relegation to Ligue 2 in January, after reporting the fault of £ 424 million (€ 505 million).

Last summer Fulham agreed to a £ 16.7 million for the winger, but he rejected the move.

In the meantime, 15 years old, he met Manchester United officials and was given a tour of Old Trafford and Carrington.

At the time, L'Equipe was lyrical from Cherki's genius and wrote that 'Manchester United is under the spell of the 15-year-old player'.

Cherki still has to make his senior international debut, but was part of Thierry Henry's Under 23 side who won a silver medal last summer, the Olympic Games in Paris.

Lyon is in seventh place, three points behind Nice, Lille and Strasbourg, with only one fixture that remains this season.

They were beaten from the Europa League after a stunning comeback from Manchester United, who scored three goals in a dramatic last seven minutes extra time to win the Tie 7-6 to aggregated and reach the semi-final.
