TNT Sports pundits CLASH over Elliot Anderson’s tackle on Foden

Ally McCoist told colleague TNT Sports Pundit Joleon Lescott to 'calm down' after the former Star of Manchester City claimed that Elliot Anderson Van Nottingham Forest was lucky not to be sent away during Saturday's game at the city.

Anderson survived a first half VAR review for a possible red card after catching Man City Star Foden with his left foot after he made contact with the ball.

The VAR assessment did not result in any punishment, but, in the break, Lescott suggested that the ex-Newcastle man might have been lucky to still be on the field.

Lescott said: 'Initially I thought it was just a block of tackle. Phil would have hurt the impact. But after I have seen this image, I am a bit skeptical to his intention. I know it was considered a natural [action but]… “

TNT sports presenter Lynsey Hipgrave then asked Lescott: 'They said it was a normal kicking action. Tell us why you think it's not. '

Lescott replied: 'I don't think so. Because the trajectory of the ball was over the floor. So for me the fact that his leg is raised and in the leg of Phil Foden would mean that this is not as normal as it can seem. '

Moments later, former Rangers and Scotland -striker McCoist replied: 'Someone must get Joleon a cup of tea, sit down and just calm him down.

“Yes, he will follow. There is a bit of a sequel, there is no doubt about it. I think he is lucky not to hurt himself, I really do that.

“I know where Joleon comes from, but I don't think it's a little more than necessary.”

The score was 0-0 with the interval, but Forest then won 1-0 with thanks to a goal from Callum Hudson-Odoi in the 83rd minute.

In the result of Saturday, Forest led four points for City in the Premier League table.

The side of Nuno Espirito Santo is still third with only 10 rounds of luminaires.
