Tom Aspinall says he has news 'soon'.
The fate of the UFC Heavyweight Division has been in the air since Jones won the empty title against Ciryl Gane in March 2023.
The heavyweight champion for 814 days and counting, Jones de Riem defended once at that time against a 42-year-old Stipe Miocic in November on UFC 309.
Until the criticism of many, Jones still has to unite the title against Tom Aspinall, who was crowned the interim champion during the absence of Jones in November 2023, almost 600 days ago.
Aspinall contributed as the interim-heavyweight champion, after he had defended the belt against Curtis Blaydes last summer by the first round of TKO.
After thousands of phone calls to strip Jones from the undisputed title, we will soon have some answers about the future of the heavyweight division.

Tom Aspinall says he will have 'heavyweight news' on 28 May
On Monday, Aspinall placed a six -second promo with the date: “28.05.2025”
“Heavyweight news. Soon,” Aspinall wrote on Instagram.
28 May will be expected to drop his announcement on Wednesday with Aspinall.
The 'Heavyweight News' of Aspinall can be somewhere between an official booking against Jones or a completely different fight against one of the best contenders in the division, because some fans speculate.

Who will be the next opponent of Aspinall? UFC fans are split in three different ways.
If Jones is not fighting Aspinall or is stripped of the heavyweight title, #2 Compenders and former interim title holder Ciryl Gane can be the following for Aspinall.
