Tom Aspinall had positive news for kickboxing legend Rico Verhoeven when he was asked about the fate of the greatest fight of the UFC in recent years.
Since he became an interim champion in November 2023, Aspinall has been in hot pursuit of undisputed gold and specifically the title holder Jon Jones. However, the fight has avoided him and he even had to defend his belt against Curtis Blaydes.
Now Aspinall seems to think that the competition will happen, although Jones says that he has told the UFC his plans in the future. It is still to be seen when or whether the fight will take place, but the tone of the Brit moves in the right direction.

In recent days, Tom Aspinall went to the Netherlands to train with kickboxing and his old sparring partner Rico Verhoeven. The couple recorded some content, including a segment where the kickboker immediately asked if he would fight against Jones.
It is a question that Aspinall is constantly being asked by fans and media in sport, but he seemed to go a slightly different direction, and insisted that the cameraman got an 'exclusive'. He then looked at Verhoeven and said in a challenging tone, “I think yes, I think we get it.”
He then explained the struggles that he confronted to know how he could approach his pursuit of the fight. “He is an unpredictable man,” he said about Jones. “Everyone has a different idea of what to do.
“Some people are like” oh you just have to leave him and he will fight against you. ” Then other people like 'the more you talk – the less he wants to fight you'. I am just like 'what is this? 'We have to be professional hunters, we are fighting against each other, that's what we do.

Jones still has to commit to fight Aspinall, and recently seemed to enjoy troll fans who claim that he 'dives' the interim champion. There is even a change. Org -Petition launched with tens of thousands who register in just a few days to have the legend of his belt discover.

Jones hit the petition and responded to Instagram that it is' the equivalent of Pico Grams [LAUGHS]”And he seems to be focused on photographing a reality TV program in which Nate Diaz just stopped after a bitter fight between teams.
In recent weeks, other champions such as Ilia Topuria and Islam Makhachev have had to give up their belts while moving through the weights. To maintain their divisions, they have had their belts taken, but the two -year -old Logjam of Jones still has to be called.
