Tom Aspinall breaks record set by Renan Barao
On Tuesday, Aspinall became officially the long-reigning interim-PUC champion of all time.
Former Bantam weight champion Renan Barao established the previous record more than 11 years ago.
During the injury-induced absence of Domnick Cruz, the Brazilian Urijah Faber defeated a secondary belt on 135 pounds on UFC 149 on July 21, 2012.
Barao defended his title twice in Stoppage victories at Michael McDonald and Eddie Wineland before he was finally elevated to undisputed champion on January 6, 2014, which beat 'The California Kid' 534 days.
It seems likely that Aspinall will set a new longest interim champion record on 600 or 700 days.

Dana White looked on Saturday night from Cageside while Ian Garry Carlos Prates defeated in the Main Event of UFC Kansas City.
After the fight, the UFC boss gave an important update about Jones vs Aspinall in the midst of mixed reports about the fight.
“All you hear is bulls – until we say it,” White was on.
“I have often said it, that is the fight we want to do this year.
'Still super confident [it happens]. “
Aspinall continues to wait impatiently for his long -awaited crack in the event of undisputed status.
Now he has a piece of history to prove that he was worse than any other interim champion.
