Tom Aspinall’s 10-0 sparring partner suffers razor-thin defeat in toughest test yet at UFC London

Heavyweight Prospect Mick Parkin suffered the first defeat of his career at UFC London.

The 13-Fight card started with a huge upset when Guram Kutateladze, who literally had Ilia Topuria and Khamzat Chimaev in his corner, was brutally on his way to a unanimous loss of decision against Kaue Fernandes in the O2 Arena.

UFC London delivered another epic for the time being when Shauna Bannon survived what a fight-ending main kick seemed to be before he locks up an Armbar entrance to tap Puja Tomar within two rounds.

The most expected undercard fight, however, saw Mick Parkin, who often trains and laps with interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall, square against #8 ranked competitor Marcin Tybura.

Mick Parkin vs Marcin Tybura result

Aspinall only needed 73 seconds to eliminate Tybura when they collided in July 2023.

However, it soon became clear that Parkin would be made to work much harder at UFC London.

In the first round, the heavyweight duo settled in a kickboxing competition that was coordinated for five minutes before Tybura tried to steal the round by securing a late Takedown.

The Polish hunter, who brought a huge group of fans for his last fight, started the second round, and landed two huge upper hand bumps before an unfortunate slip Parkin enabled to take the top position.

Once there, the 29-year-old road with huge strikes hammered the head of his opponent of the floor, and the British Vecht fans, including Aspinall, who felt that a knockout victory was in the neighborhood.

Tybura showed his toughness to take all punishment and to prevent an attempted leg lock, so he could get up again- but he ate more punches on the feet before he was flown at the end of a dominant second Stanza for Parkin.

The final round settled back in a kickboxing competition, of which Tybura seemed to be when he threw more volume. Eventually the judges agreed because all three of the fight 29-28 scored in his favor.

Will Mick Parkin ever fight Tom Aspinall?

In the run -up to UFC London, Parkin considered a future fight with the interim heavyweight champion.

The Englishman insisted that only a huge amount of money would make him consider to be confronted with Aspinall.

“It has been raised a few times,” said Parkin during an exclusive interview with Bloody Elbow.

“Together, he always wraps us on it. He says,” F— Hell, two more victories, size, and we'll be there. ” Because it is always spoken that he is unable to get fights.

“Look, he is my friend, and he helped me in my career. I trained with him so long now that we are good friends. I hope he gets the Jones fight and he pulls a lot of money with a lot of money – that's what we need to push him out.

“There are still 10 boys who have to fight to get there to get there. So it's still a long way for me. Unless it was crazy, I would probably not fight Tom.”

For now he has to concentrate on the recovery of the first defeat of his 11-Fight MMA career.
