Tony Ferguson returns for the first time since his UFC room to combat sport and he goes to the boxing ring.
The legendary former interim light weight champion comes to Boxing Misfits, where it is accompanied by two titans of the MMA world. Darren Till will make his third ring of the year while heading against former UFC Middleweight Champion Luke Rockhold, who makes his ring debut.
Till beat Anthony Taylor and Darren Stewart in his first two fights this year, but takes a big step to face an ex-champion. Both Rockhold and Ferguson have been in the race to fight Miskits -Baas KSI in the past and will consider this show as a huge opportunity to strengthen their spots as stars for the promotion.
Darren Till vs Luke Rockhold and Tony Ferguson vs Salt Papi fixed for outsiders 22
All eyes were aimed at the announcement of the main event for Misfits 22 tonight, because the promotion finally confirmed that Luke Rockhold would be the next opponent of Darren Till. But they also confirmed a double main event with Tony Ferguson vs Salt Papi.
The event takes place in the AO Arena in Manchester on August 30 and will be available via Dazn PPV. It will be the first PPV headliner from Till since he moved to Misfits, whereby his last two are only available through the subscription.
Fans at the moment will be aware of the viral rise of Salt Papi to fame, who started with a knock -out of veteran MMA -hunter Josh Bruckner in January 2023. He hit a stumbling block when First Anthony Taylor and then Slim Albaher beat him back with two impressive stops last year.
Now he takes the most difficult test of his career, while confronted with former UFC -striking Ferguson, who left the UFC earlier this year to pursue further fights. He was called to retire by fans, but insisted that he still wants to fight despite an eight-fighter-losing series.
Rockhold and Ferguson both had heavy ends at their UFC official periods
Between them in their later UFC runs, Luke Rockhold and Tony Ferguson had both difficult routes. While the lightweight and welterweight star went with 0-8 in his last pair, Rockhold did not do much better to lose four of his last five.

He even made the switch to bare knuckle boxing, where he stood opposite Mike Perry in his debut. However, that did not go so well because he was forced to stop in the second round after a horrible injury that saw him lose several teeth.
In the meantime, it has been right since leaving the Octagon. His last UFC fight almost saw him beat the final champion Drus Du Plessis before he went to the boxing ring where he won three victories, two at stopping and one with a buzzer knockdown who could have been demonstrably a ko.
