Brendan Allen challenges Israel Adesanya for UFC Return
Adesanya recently shared a message to his doubters who are insisting that the former champion is 'washed' at the age of 36 or be past his prime.
“People say I have been washed, but they had never been in the F -,” said Adesanya on his YouTube channel.
Adesanya is 1-4 in his last five fights, with his most recent victory a 'perfect' highlight-reel knockout over Alex Pereira in 2023.
After his return to the winning column against Marvin Vettori on UFC 318 a month ago, #9-ranged UFC Sent Middenweight Competent Brendan Allen a message to Adesanya after his 'washed' comments.
“Well, let's take a look,” wrote Allen on Instagram.
“You're ready for November @stylebender,” all called Adesanya a fight.
Allen has won eight of his last ten fights, which is a very impressive performance in the UFC. Allen has only lost to Nassourdine Imavov and Anthony Hernandez, who could both fight for the middleweight title soon.
The 29-year-old made the headlines to focus on Dricus du Plessis after his title loss to Khamzat Chimaev on UFC 319 last weekend.
Israel Adesanya has not fought outside the top 5 since 2019
'Everything in' would be the first opponent of Adesanya outside the middleweight top five since Anderson Silva on UFC 234 in 2019.
From that moment on it was former champion after former champion, top candidate after top candidate for Adesanya.
Adesanya never fought under a #5 ranking list when he was a champion. Arrange after the title, 'Competent Izzy' has yet to break that trend.
We will see if 17-Vecht UFC veteran and #9-ranged competitor Brendan all get the chance to then fight Adesanya.
