Top 10 fastest players in the WORLD in 2024 revealed & a League One star at TOP

The Top 10 fastest players in the world from last year have been announced.

And League One's Ricky-Jade Jones tops the global charts with a blistering pace matched by only one other star.

In the modern game, pace is worth its weight in gold and has become a key weapon used from the lowest division all the way to the top.

Lung-bursting runs have the ability to turn a game on its head.

And now, PFF FC's 2024 maximum speed data has been revealed.

By taking the average top speed over five matches, it has compiled a list of the 10 fastest players in the world from last year.

The names come from all over the world, with no player competing in a top division.

And amazingly the number 1 spot has gone to Peterborough star Jones.

It tops the list with an astonishing speed of 37.3km/h, making it faster than some speed limits in Britain.

But his agile legs will have to go much faster if he is to lift his side out of their current 18th place in League One.

Jones' pace is matched only by that of Joseph Paintsil, who plays in America for LA Galaxy.

Third on the list is Tokyo Verdy' Yudai Kimura with a speed of 37 km/h.

Fourth place goes to Herman Johansson of Mjallby AIF with a speed of 36 km/h.

Another player from the English division is on the list.

Portsmouth's Josh Murphy is in ninth place with a speed of 36.7 km/h.

Yet his club languishes in 23rd place in the championship.

And Murphy hopes to boost them in 2025 with his incredible agility.
