Top 5 biggest UFC punchers ranked from Alex Pereira to featherweight bogeyman

Over the years, the Octagon has been home to a number of incredibly heavy striking people and the current selection is no different.

There are not many things that fans fight, such as more than a knockout and fighters that they can consistently deliver are cherished raw materials.

We have recently seen a number of scary finishes of promotions outside the MMA leader or the huge right hands in BKFC or Uppercuts in anger FC that are not soon not forgotten, but that is not eligible from this five-man design.

According to the rules that the list only contains the current UFC hunters and is ranked with pound-for-pound strength in mind, here are the five most powerful punchers on the Roster.

One of the following names is even set to appear on the Apex this weekend (April 5) after being called up by an undefeated competition at 145 pounds.

5. Tom Aspinall

In some respects it feels a bit like cheating to have a heavyweight on a pound-for-pound power list because they are of course the biggest athletes in the selection.

In the case of Tom Aspinall, however, it is appropriate because it is not only its size that makes the Brit a fierce force in the octhoek.

The Interim weight champion currently has the record for the fastest average fighting time in the UFC history that is made even more impressive when you consider that you have to make the walk at least five times and even then it is almost 20 seconds for the #2 entry Drew McFedries.

There is always a story that can change the fight in heavyweight, but Aspinall has proven that with 6 knockouts in 8 UFC victories, he can deliver that murderous blow in an instant.

4. Jeremy Stephens

Jeremy Stephens who recently signed again for the UFC for a Fight deal makes 'Lil-Heheidenen' eligible for this list and frankly, the only reason why he is not higher is that it was a long time ago that we last killed an opponent in MMA (7 years to be precise).

The power of the 51-Fight MMA veteran has recently been shown during his time in BKFC, where he has delivered a career repeat with victories over Jimmie Rivera, Bobby Taylor and Eddie Alvarez.

When Stephens Conor McGregor told famous during their press conference exchange that he was the really most difficult 145-ponder, he did not lie … at the time.

He is currently in second place with Anderson Silva for most knockdowns in the UFC history and falls short of Donald 'Cowboy' Cerrone's record of 20.

3. Alex Pereira

Size is an important factor when you arrange Alex Pereira alongside smaller hunters, but you just don't see hunters at 205 pounds or above that country with so much impact.

Fighters such as the late Anthony 'Rumble' Johnson are also feared in this division, but when you see the explosion in his bumps, it is clear to see where the power is generated.

'Patan' has a track record for making his One-Shot Power effortlessly seem effortless with 10 of his 12 wins in MMA that come through knockout.

Not to mention his frankly absurd highlights of his time as an elite kickboker, where he recorded 21 knock -outs in 33 victories with his characteristic left hook like the stuff of legend.

2. Josh Emmett

Josh Emmett is in the conversation with heavyweights such as Francis Ngannou for having the scariest set knockouts, despite the fact that he is a featherweight.

Just like the previously mentioned 'Rumble' Johnson, it is no secret that the wild power of the American stems from the insane explosiveness that he can generate.

His knockouts about Ricardo Lamas, Michael Johnson and Bryce Mitchell have shown that Emmett is a 145-pound hunter who only has to land once without any follow-ups being required.

On April 5, he will be looking for his mass destruction weapons against the unbeaten Lerone Murphy, while the 40-year-old tries to produce a final characteristic run.

The only thing that keeps him taking the pound-for-pound upper spot is a fellow home-run hitter in the same weight class that set up a clinic against him in 2023.

1. Ilia Topuria

Just like Alex Pereira, Ilia Topuria has the opportunity to put opponents away while it sometimes looks easy.

Various factors are currently pushing the newly mentioned 'La Leyenda' in the first place with one important point that before he arrived in the UFC, the undefeated star was not even known for his KO competence.

When he arrived in the UFC in 2020, Topuria had only one knockout out of his name with 7 victories through the entry.

Since then he has added 5 knockouts to his record and if the quality of the opposition reinforces any weight in this list, the 28-year-old must be the first round concept choice after eliminating two all time in his last outings.

Alexander Volkanovski stopping at UFC 298 was one thing, but it became the first man to kink Max Holloway on UFC 308 this place.

We still do not know how the power of Topuria will match the top light weights now that it has been moved to 155 pounds, but in 2022 we have seen against Jai Herbert that his ability to close the show is still a red warning risk outside the featherweight division.

Topuria may not have the same explosion behind his shots as some others, but if there is something, it only makes it more impressive that he is able to fold opponents with the touch of death.
