Top-flight sides set to resume bitter rivalry next season with stadiums that are nearly TOUCHING after minnows promoted

Two clubs whose stadiums almost touch will renew their rivalry next season.

It comes after the Minnows promotion has earned in the top flight – after the destructive comments by Jurgen Klopp.

Paris FC confirmed their place in Ligue 1 next season with a 1-1 draw on Martigues on Friday.

That brought them four points from Metz who are third and have to settle for a promotional play-off place.

And it means that Paris FC will be right next to their enemies, the giants of French football.

That is because Paris FC will move to a new stadium next season, which is literally a few meters from Paris Saint-Germain's Parc des Princes.

The feud of the two teams dates from 1972 when Paris FC split off from Paris Saint-Germain-Die himself only two years earlier when Stade Saint-Germain and Paris FC merged.

Paris FC is part of the Red Bull Group, where the energy drink company buys a ten percent interest last year.

And the arrival of ex-livepool manager Jurgen Klopp as head of Global Soccer for Red Bull led to the stadium movement.

Klopp felt that the atmosphere in the Stade Sebastien Charlety was not good enough – and led a switch to the Stade Jean -Bouin, home of Stade Francais Rugby Team.

But the land of 19,000 seats – smaller than their current house – is right next to PSG's own house.

The two locations are separated by Rue Claude Farrere.

But PSG will hope that it is so close if their rivals can reach them in the next term.

Luis Enrique's Ligue 1 champions go for a fifth title in a row in 2024-25.

And they hope not only have the local and national bragging rights – but also be kings of Europe.

PSG Go to the second stage on Wednesday of their Champions League-Halvale with Arsenal that leads 1-0.

The winners are confronted with Barcelona or Inter in the Munich final.
