Top middleweight picks Sean Strickland to replicate all-time UFC upset in potential Israel Adesanya rematch

Caio Borralho does not see Israel Adesanya taking revenge on Sean Strickland in the Octagon.

Former UFC title holders Israel Adesanya and Sean Strickland may be possible on a collision course in the midst of the recent skids of both fighters. Adesanya recently called Strickland for his next fight at the UFC Hall of Fame Red Carpet.

Strickland, after two losses for UFC Middleweight Champion Dric Du Plessis, falls outside the title mix after a crooked version on UFC 312. A timeline is uncertain for Strickland's return to the cage after a recent incident at a Tuff-N-BUIP event in Las Vegas.

While the UFC Matchmakers plot is fighting for both stars, a rematch between Strickland and Adesanya would be much logical for later this year. But a top candidate does not believe that Adesanya has a chance to beat Strickland after their five -round fight on UFC 293.

Caio Borralho gives Israel Adesanya few opportunities to take revenge on Sean Strickland

During a recent interview with Submission Radio, Caio Borralho explained why he believes that Adesanya will not get better from Strickland in their potential middleweight Rematch.

“To be honest, I see it in the same way, because Strickland … do styles fighting, and Strickland is a man who presses a lot, and Izzy does not like to put too much pressure,” Borralho said.

“He moves a lot, moves very well in the octagon, but he needs the man to throw everything when the man puts him under pressure. But Sean Strickland does not turn everything off, he touches. And maybe it can be different, but I think it will be the same.

“Strickland will march ahead, Izzy will try to guess which punch will come with force, and then there will be no power and he will be a bit confused,” Borralho continued. “Get touched a lot, and I think Strickland is winning again. Not the strickland that popped up against Dricus, because that strickland was not the stricking that I know. So if he really pops up to fight the first time against Izzy, he wins.”

Earlier this year, Adesanya will run a three-fighter loss streak, including his most recent defeat against Nassourdine Imavov in UFC Saudi Arabia. Borralho will be confronted with Imavov in UFC Paris in September.

Strickland dedicated one of the greatest disruptions in the UFC history when he defeated Adesanya through a unanimous decision on UFC 293 to win the middleweight belt. Strickland then lost the title of Du Plessis on UFC 297.

Israel Adesanya defended Jon Jones fiercely against Trolly Tiktoker

While Adesanya is showing his UFC comeback, he was a big presence during the International Fight Week of the UFC last month in Las Vegas. During a Meet-and-Greet with fans, a fan begged Adesanya to insult Jon Jones, to which the former middleweight champion fiercely refused.

Adesanya defended Jones against a trolling tapping toker during the UFC fan Meet-and-Greet, begged the troll to 'use his brain' when lowing MMA hunters. It was in stark contrast to Adesanya's previous beef with Jones earlier in their UFC career.

Adesanya will try to return to the photo of the middleweight title in his next fight, possibly against Strickland, towards the end of the year.
