Top UFC contender says the BMF title needs to be ‘retired’ with Dustin Poirier at UFC 318

Do not consider this man as a fan of the BMF title, who will defend Max Holloway against Dustin Poirier on UFC 318.

The symbolic belt will be at stake for the fourth time this Saturday, almost six years after the BMF showdown of Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz at UFC 244 in 2019.

The current champion Holloway will be the second to try a successful defense after he had unlocked Justin Gaethje last year. To achieve the performance, 'blessed' has the task of spoiling Dustin Poirier's pension fight on UFC 318.

The BMF title has split the opinion since its creation, in which some love the concept and others reject his legitimacy and place in the leading promotion of MMA.

It is safe to say that this hunter falls on the last side of the argument …

Joaquin Buckley wants to see the BMF title end with Max Holloway vs. Dustin Poirier

During a recent episode of his Brick Brothers -Podcast, the rising UFC -Welterwet -Competent Joaquin Buckley ahead looked ahead to the upcoming PPV head event in Smoothie King Center.

In addition to choosing Poirier to retire on top by taking a third victory over Holloway, 'New Mansa' hopes to see that 'The Diamond' is retiring the symbolic BMF -Riem with him.

“To be honest with you, I like that this fight happens,” Buckley started. “More than likely (Poirier) will win again, and it will put an end to this entire BMF thing and the title.

“The BMF -thing has to retire with Dustin Poirier. … I think the BMF title, it should end. And I think it will end with Dustin Poirier.

“This is a good end to the BMF,” Buckley continued. “That's the only way it goes.”

Tom Aspinall shares the opinion of Joaquin Buckley about the BMF title of the UFC

Buckley is far from the only prominent UFC hunter who is not a BMF Belt supporter.

Also rejecting the importance for UFC 318 was heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall, who wondered why during his Fight Lab show on TNT sports at Holloway vs. Poirier must be attached.

“Do you want my honest opinion (about the title)? I mean, it's a title, but it's not a world championship, so what are we doing?” Said Aspinall.

“These guys don't need a title, they are two legends of the sport. Look at the name value, even look at the rankings, look at the amount of battles they have, look at the shorts they wear.

“We don't really need a title at stake, to be honest,” Aspinall concluded.
