Tottenham and Newcastle face elite competition to sign Lens’ Abdukodir Khusanov
The list of parties interested in Abukodir Khusanov (20) from RC Lens is growing. As reported by Foot Mercato, Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Luís Campos recently met with the defender's entourage ahead of a possible move in January, while Mohamed Toubache-Ter has also shown interest from La Liga giants Atletico Madrid.
Ideally, Lens would like to keep Khusanov in January, but with Les Sang et Or not making the necessary sales in the summer, Les Sang et Or could be forced to offload the Uzbek international in the event of a big bid. According to The Telegraph, this may come from the Premier League.
The English publication reports that both Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United have inquired about the feasibility of a deal in January, with a fee of €30 million being touted. Such a figure could force Lens to sell Khusanov, who was bought from Belarus' Energetik-BGU for 100,000 euros just 18 months ago.
With PSG, Atletico Madrid, Tottenham and Newcastle all interested in the centre-back, a bidding war could see his value rise even further.
