Tottenham boss Postecoglou: Ranieri career just unbelievable
The Italian has taken charge of struggling AS Roma, Spurs' next opponent.
The two clubs will face each other in London in the Europa League on Thursday evening.
About Ranieri, Postecoglou told reporters: “It's unbelievable. It just shows the passion he has for the game. I'm sure there are more fun ways to live his life now, but he still has it in him. I haven't met him before, but I'm looking forward to saying hello.
“It's always nice to meet people who have made a huge impact on football, especially managers. He always comes across as a gentleman. I'm looking forward to meeting him. It just shows that the bug you have as a manager, because you are on the sidelines, you don't let go.”
Asked whether Ranieri winning the Premier League with Leicester was inspiring, he added: “I don't know if it's inspired, but it's certainly what I love about football. There aren't many sports where that can happen. Such an unlikely story of a club and a manager, who already had a very strong reputation, it comes together in the biggest competition in the world.
“It's a great story. It's one of those movies where if you saw it in one sitting you'd think it was a great movie, but ahhh, that's never going to happen. And that happened. Everyone who went through that experience within the Leicester Football Club and everyone involved with the people there and for Claudio and his family… That's all we're longing for, just to leave some kind of imprint and footprint in our career that goes beyond what we can do. what we do, he certainly left a huge footprint during that season at Leicester.”
