Tottenham reportedly identified Nico Paz, once called “the future of Real Madrid” by former boss Carlo Ancelotti, as an alternative to Ebereechi Eze after he has beaten them for Arsenal
Tottenham seems to have lost in the race to sign Crystal Palace Sensation Ebereechi Eze after Rivals entered Arsenal with a transfer coup. But the next target of Spurs, Como's Nico Paz, was once praised as 'the future of Real Madrid'.
Despite the fact that Spurs Chief Daniel Levy Homes a £ 60 million proposal for Eze Uit, their rivals appeared in North Londs on Wednesday evening with a package of £ 68 million. Thanks to the relationship of Executive Vice chairman Tim Lewis with Steve Parish in Palace, the Gunners managed to surpass their rivals and Eze has opted for a switch to the Emirates.
He hopes to play one last time for Palace on Thursday evening for Palace in their play-off from the conference against Fredrikstad, but can be stopped because of the risk of injuries. Tottenham now has to shift their focus elsewhere, and former Real Madrid star Paz is reportedly on their radar and highly regarded.
After he has missed Eze for almost long -term target, Thomas Frank's Spurs have drawn their attention to other attacking midfield goals. They would like to strengthen this area as a result of injuries to James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski, and the departure of son Heung-Min.
The Daily Mail suggests that Como Ace Paz is on the shortlist of the club next to Monaco star Maghnes Akliouche. Paz, born in Tenerife, started his career in local academies before moving to Real Madrid's famous La Fabrica in 2016.
He started as a defender, but gradually continued in more attacking positions. After his B-Team debut in 2022, Paz got his first senior chance for Los Blancos in the Champions League collision with Braga 12 months later. His first league outing followed shortly thereafter.
Unfortunately, confronted with intense competition for forward positions, he continued a transfer in August 2024 and joined the newly promoted Serie A-Outfit Como for a reported £ 5.1 million. He made his debut the next day for the club with immediate impact.
Real retains a back-back clause of approximately £ 10.5 million for the young person and continues to keep some of his economic rights. The former boss of the Club Carlo Ancelotti suggested that this provision could be activated in the line while praising the star, which could make any potential deal more difficult for traces.
Speaking with RAI Radio 1 Last December, Ancelotti was interviewed about Paz and he could not control his admiration, and stated: “Paz is a player we follow a lot. He is really good.
“He is a great talent. This year of training away from Real does him a lot of good. We believe that he is a player who can be the future of Real Madrid.”
Paz earned the Serie A Young Player of the Year Award in Italy last season. The 20-year-old then won his first Argentina-Pet against Bolivia in October 2024 and received again after setting up the legendary Lionel Messi.
“Nico Paz has an incredible mindset, and that's why he is where he is,” Messi explained after the 6-0 triumph. “Nico has a lot of quality and understands the game perfectly.
“He has an incredible mindset, and he is at Cesc Fabregas (manager of Como) as a coach, who is my friend and will help him grow a lot.”
