Tottenham could be denied £45m summer deal by Bayern Munich after transfer window change

Tottenham has the option to sign loan Mathys Tel on a permanent transfer for £ 45 million when the summer transfer window is opened, but parent club Bayern Munich are holding a veto

Tottenham may have the decision to sign Mathys Tel from their hands by Bayern Munich. Tel joined Spurs in the Transfer Star of January and signed on loan until the end of the season looking for a more regular playing time, after struggling under the management of Vincent Kompany.

The France under the age of 21 has so far only returned one goal in seven games for Tottenham and the jury remains his potential in front of the Ange Postecoglou side. The deal agreed between Bayern and Spurs sees the North London side have a purchase option at € 55 million (£ 45.7 million).

Bayern could, however, undermine that, with Kicker reporting that the Bavarian giants are considering calling all players on loan prior to the club World Cup, which starts in the United States on 14 June. Tel's contract with Spurs expires on 30 June, but FIFA has opened a new transfer window between June 1 and June 10.

Bayern can enable this to terminate their existing agreement with Spurs and bring the Frenchman back. The Split-Transfervars star was ratified this week and will make the deal that deals reopen on June 16 to September 1. It can present a problem for Spurs if they want to keep count.

The young attacker made it clear that he would be open to stay when he signed in February. “Why I chose Tottenham, because that was the best option for me, which was important to me,” Tel.

“I felt the dedication, I spoke with the president [chairman Daniel Levy]spoke with the manager. I am young, I started to grow up and this was the best option for me and I am very happy. I am very excited to play with my teammates for the fans. That is a new challenge for me, a new chapter to open. “

Postecoglou spoke earlier this month, the emphasized the need for patience with Tel. “Mathys came for us in a very difficult time because it is different if you don't play regularly and then jump in, but he tries to build up his fitness a bit,” he said. “At the same time, we set it up quite regularly because of our lack of options.

“He is still a young man, it is a different competition and there are different requirements. Certainly at the moment we are not at our best moment like last night when he will get a lot of opportunities.

“Again, working with him since he entered, he has a very strong head on his shoulders and last night, as disappointed as he was to get off, it didn't seem to influence him in terms of his mental predisposition to deal with it and to go with it and try to have an impact he can do.”

He added: “[Mathys] Did not make the impact he probably wanted, but the circumstances of where we are, I think it is unfair to put that on his shoulders. He did it as well as he can. I am sure that between now and the end of the year people will see him and realize what a talent he is and my job is to ensure that we protect him from that. “
