Getafe haven't had too many redeeming qualities this season, but their one strength is their defense. Despite being in 15th place with just three wins, Getafe have only conceded 13 goals in 16 games.
The core of that defense is Omar Alderete. The Paraguayan defender, who recently played a key role in the victory over Argentina, was a bastion at the back for Jose Bordalas. However, he may not be around for much longer.
Alderete has a release clause of €16 million, according to Diario AS, and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in activating that clause. The 27-year-old has been shortlisted for Spurs and manager Ange Postecoglou has apparently asked for his contract after admiring his strength and skill on the ball.
The Getafe hardman has been linked with Atletico Madrid in recent months, and there are certainly few strikers who would envy the task of going up against him. This season, Alderete has made 15 appearances for Getafe in La Liga, missing just one match.
