Tottenham release 13 players and complete £21m transfer as Ange Postecoglou awaits decision

Timo Werner will not become a permanent member of Spurs with the club to reject an option to sign him for £ 8.5 million in the expiry of their loan agreement with RB Leipzig

Tottenham has decided not to sign misfit attacker Timo Werner after confirming his return to RB Leipzig – but a £ 21 million deal to sign the International Kevin Danso of Austria will be formally completed on Sunday.

Spurs had an option to buy the German international for £ 8.5 million at the end of his loan, but that was not included with the Europa League winners who called him as one of the six senior players who leave the club. Werner, 29, did not score a goal this season in 18 league performances and missed a large part of the campaign with a hamstring injury.

He leaves with three goals in all matches in 41 performances in one and a half season.

Goalists Fraser Forster, 37, and Alfie Whiteman, 26, are both released at the end of their contracts this month, while Left Back Sergio Reguilon, 28, also becomes a free agent.

Forster became a member of Spurs in the summer of 2022 after a few years in Southampton and was shown in the early stages of their Europa League triumph. Academy Whiteman graduated only performed one first team, while Reguilon leaves after a five -year -old Stint, making loan movements for Atletico Madrid, Manchester United and Brentford.

Welshe defender Ben Davies is also without a contract on 30 June, but can still sign a new deal in the midst of interest of Championship New Boys Wrexham, while the future of Mathys Tel remains unclear.

He signed on loan from Bayern Munich in January and that included an option to buy the France U21 in advance for £ 50 million. Tottenham has also said that the loan from Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to Marseille will become a permanent switch.

The Danso Lens loan is converted into a permanent stay in North Londs, up to an amount of £ 21 million according to the conditions of his loan agreement.

The 26-year-old made 10 Premier League performances last season and arrived as a late replacement when Spurs Disgued Manchester United in the Europa League final.

Spurs still weighs whether they should stay at Ange Postecoglou as a head coach after their European triumph and a gloomy 22-Loss Premier League campaign.

The club said that youth team players Will Andiyapan, Archie Baptiste, Jahziah Linton, Maxwell McNight, Max Robson, Jaden Williams, Elliot Krasniqi, Timileyin Adekunle, Dante Orr and Charlie Warren go away when their deals take their deals.
