Tottenham is ready to sign Mohammed Kudus van West Ham and the transfer is expected to give Manchester United a free run in Bryan Mbeumo after weeks of negotiations
Tottenham has agreed a deal to sign West Ham Mohammed Kudus for around £ 55 million, probably putting an end to Bryan Mbeumo. Kudus, 24, will undergo a medical track before she puts pen on paper with a six -year contract.
The attacker has been the first signing of Thomas Frank since he was appointed manager of Tottenham. Frank wanted to take Mbeumo with the former club Brentford, although Manchester United are the clear favorites to sign him after the Cameroon International Spurs had informed that he wants to join the Red Devils.
Tottenham focused their attention on Kudus and after seeing their first bid worth £ 50 million last week rejected by West Ham, the athletic report that the two clubs have now completed an agreement. The Ghanaese has given priority to moving to North Londs and personal conditions are not expected to be a problem.
Spurs has a deal closed far below the release clause of £ 85 million from Kudus for Premier League parties, which is only active for the first 10 days of July. The clause enables teams on the continent to sign him for £ 80 million, while clubs from Saudi Arabia would have to pay £ 120 million.
Kudus came to West Ham of Ajax in 2023 for £ 38 million. The 24-year-old scored 65 Premier League performances for the IJzers, scored 13 goals and delivered nine assists.
Tottenham has already strengthened their attack by making Mathys Tel permanent for £ 38 million for a six -year -old deal. The French striker Tel spent the second half of last season on loan with Spurs from Bayern Munich, and helped them win the Europa League that ended their 17-year-old trophy-dried.
Frank had watched Mbeumo after he had received the job, but Tottenham denies to make a bid after learning his preference to sign for United. The ex-Brentford boss is a big fan of Mbeumo, who scored an impressive 20 Premier League goals last season and believes that his old club should demand a considerable fee for the signature of the winger.
Is £ 55 million a good price for Mohammed Kudus? Say in the commentary part.
“I am the head coach. I want my best players to stay forever,” Frank told Sky Sports. “I know that Bryan is very happy to be here in Brentford, he blooms, is doing well and plays fantastic. What will happen in the future? I don't know.
“I have often said: we are a selling club. But at the same time we have to strengthen that there are 10 clubs in the world that do not sell clubs. So of course, if the right price – and that will be expensive – will come, then I am sure that the club will be open. But I am very happy that he is here and I am still convinced that Bryan is still happy here.”
