Tottenham is on the market for new signing sessions prior to the 2025-26 season and are now connected to a midfielder who was recently interested in Arsenal
Tottenham has become the newest club associated with Joao Palhinha from Bayern Munich, who is said to have been the subject of Arsenal earlier in the summer.
Spurs are on the market for new additions to Thomas Frank's team prior to the new season, where they return to the Champions League. And Palhinha, the Portugal International who was previously in Fulham's books, has emerged as a target.
Palhinha, 30, only came to Bayern last summer after seeing a transfer to the German giant collapse dramatically on Deadline Day 12 months earlier.
But he is now being recommended for a return to the Premier League and Tottenham is apparently interested in acquiring the defensive midfielder as part of their summer plans.
Spurs are considering a movement for Palhinha, who has struggled in Germany and is not in Vincent Kompany's first team plans. However, they prefer a loan movement, instead of a permanent one.
It is still to be seen whether Tottenham's need for a new No. 6 could open the door for conversations about a deal for Palhinha, who signed a contract with the German giants until 2028.
Left to Tottenham only a few weeks after it had been reported by Bild that Arsenal had considered signing the midfielder – who was a huge hit in Fulham before moving to the Bundesliga – as part of their attempts to renew their team.
The Gunners have since signed Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard after Jorginho and Thomas Partey have left the club at the end of the season. But it is claimed that conversations were held with Bayern about a possible movement for Palhinha before the club World Cup.

Traces are also expected to strengthen in other areas prior to the new Premier League campaign, which will start next month.
They remain interested in Morgan Gibbs-White, although it is still to be seen whether they will sign the attacking midfielder from Nottingham Forest.
Tottenham is also interested in the Defender of Crystal Palace, Marc Guehi, although they are probably confronted with competition from Liverpool for the signature of the English star.
Guehi has now entered the last year of his contract in Selhurst Park, which means that Palace may run the risk of losing him for free next summer if they resist important offers for the player services in the coming weeks.
