A Liga star spoke for the first time during a summer movement to Tottenham that has been in the making for several months.

After lending Spurs to the fifth in his first Premier League campaign, Ange Postecoglou started reforming his team last summer, with eight players who left permanent deals.

One of those to leave was Giovani Lo Celso, who continued with Real Betis after a stuttering spell of four years in North London.

As part of the deal to send the Argentina International to the Estadio Benito Villamarin, spurs negotiated with which they can sign Betis midfielder Johnny Cardoso when the summer transfer window is opened.

“I can't lie, and it's true that it is something that gives me confidence, so I feel appreciated because I am doing well,” Cardoso told Diario de Seville.

'But I always try to improve and do my best for the benefit of the group and grows like a person on and next to the field.

'At the moment, however, my focus is only on betis. This season we have important things to think about. '

Under the stewardship of former Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini Betis, so far, has enjoyed an impressive campaign and is currently only eight points behind the Champions League places with ten games,

The club also enjoyed success in Europe and will be confronted next month with Polish side Jagiellonia Bialystok in the quarterfinals of the UEFA Conference League next month.

Asked if he would like to represent Betis in the Champions League next season if they were eligible if Cardoso answered: “Of course.”
