Micky Van de Ven says that the Tottenham players want to win the Europa League for Ange Postecoglou, who comes under increasing pressure.
Spurs has struggled this season and was currently 15th in the Premier League with 37 points, while their 4-2 defeat against Wolves last weekend was their 17th loss in the competition.
After being beaten in the fourth round from the FA Cup and the EFL Cup in the semi -final phase, the Europa League is the last chance of Spurs to win a trophy this period.
In their quarter-final second stage against Eintracht Frankfurt with the tie, they are fine ready at 1-1 after Pedro Porro had canceled the opener of Hugo Ekitike.
Spurs wants to win their first trophy since 2008, and Van de Ven says that the team wants to close their season in a high tone.
“It has not been our best season,” Van de Ven told a press conference.
“The fans want us to play better and do better in the games we have lost, but when the whole team is strong, we can achieve some beautiful things – hopefully we can show that to anyone who doubts us.
“We have faith in the Gaffer and the way he wants us to play. We want to win for him, but also for us, the club and the fans.
“We want to achieve something this season, and this is the best way to do it.”
Tottenham wants to be eligible for a second major European semi-final in the last seven seasons, after they did this in the Champions League in 2018-19. This would be as much if they qualified in advance in the previous 44 seasons, between 1974-85 and 2017-18 (two).
However, they only originated from one of their previous 10 knock-out stage tires in European competitions after they did not win the first stage at home and previously won in the semi-final of the Champions League in 2018-19 (1-0 loss of the first legs, won on goals-3-3 aggregate).
This season, Postecoglou confronted with questions about his position, with their recent run that leads to frustration among the Spurs fans.
When asked about his future in the club, the Australian admitted that he did not know whether his position would be influenced by the result of Thursday.
“No – no idea. We have a game [against Frankfurt]But it's not something I have to think about, “he said.
“I have never thought of those things in terms of what is important. What is important is a game that is a huge opportunity for this group of players and this football club to achieve what everyone wants to achieve.
“Something other than that, especially in terms of me, I don't really have much thinking process that thinks about my career or what I do that way.”
