Ange Postecoglou says that the end of third place in the Premier League Tottenham would not have changed – but winning the Europa League Will.
Spurs were 1-0 winners against Manchester United thanks to the first half of Brennan Johnson-it-Het from Truth to Postecoglou's Claims earlier this season that he always wins a trophy in his second season in a club.
It is the first silverware that Tottenham has won since 2008 and will compete in the Champions League next season. That in itself will yield increased income for the club.
Postcolgou discussed his commentary on the second season and told TNT Sports: “I wasn't when I bragged. I made it an explanation. I believed it. Like third, ending would not change this football club. Tise to change something that this football club changes.
“I am not afraid to explain that. If I felt briefly, I was happy to combine it. That was my ambition. I could say that. I was willing to wear it. People kept reminding me, but that was only because there was a chance to win something.
“It's how the club takes on itself. People quickly take pictures of the club, who did not defend themselves as much as it should. I understand that like people have been here for a long time and have had nothing to lean on. I hope this does that.
“There is no reason why they cannot start next year to believe that they can win again and build a team that strives to win things. If you see yourself that way, regardless of what the noise is, that is what the great clubs do. They expect success as they have had. Hopefully the club will make ahead.”
Whether Postecoglou will remain as Tottenham manager, who leads them to the Champions League, still to be seen. Media reports have suggested that this summer he could be relieved of his duties after a disappointing domestic campaign, in which Spurs will end in 17th place.
But the Australian wanted to emphasize how he wants to build on his European success and added: “I have had such a laser focus to win this. Whatever happens.
“We are still building this team. It is a young team, we have to add experience. My thinking process is about building a team that can be successful for five or six years.
“But I am the manager – that decision is not in my hands. It has no influence on me. You would have seen that in the structure. Everything I care about is is is [the medal] Because this means that this football club has won a trophy.
“I don't feel that I have completed the job. We are building. The moment I accepted the role I had one thing in my head – win something. We have done that now and I want to build on it.”

In terms of clubs where he was in charge of a second season or second full season, Postcoglou won competition titles with South Melbourne (1997/98) and Brisbane Roar (2010/11) in Australia, and the Japanese competition with Yokohama F Marinos (2019). He also won cup matches at every club.
At Celtic, Postecoglou won the Scottish premiership in both campaigns, and did this earlier than on other points in his career. He also won the Scottish League Cup in every season, and the 2022/23 Scottish Cup.
When managing Australia, Postecoglou won the Asian Cup in 2015, two years after he took over. He was also successful as a boss of the U17 and U20 teams of Australia.
There are three clubs where he won no trophies, but he did not see two seasons that are in charge of them – Panachaiki, Whittlesea Zebras and the victory of Melbourne.
