Trent Alexander-Arnold comes closer to joining Real Madrid, who seems ready to sign him on a free transfer when his contract with Boyhood Club Liverpool proceeds this summer this summer
Trent Alexander-Arnold has already told Liverpool who can increase and replace him right back after his approaching move to Real Madrid. Alexander-Arnold, 26, reportedly agreed the conditions for a five-year contract with a value of more than £ 220,000 a week with the Spanish giants, who are ready to sign him on a free transfer on 1 July.
Since January, Alexander-Arnold was able to negotiate with other clubs outside the UK because of his deal in Liverpool, which will end this summer. Real did not waste time – even an approach to sign him in January – and although Liverpool does not comment on the reports, the Liga title holders seem to have reached an agreement with the English International.
The question for Liverpool is now with whom he should replace it. Alexander-Arnold is Liverpool's first choice since the 2017-18 season, beautiful under Jurgen Klopp before Arne Slot took over this term.
The arrival of Slot coincided with the rise of Conor Bradley, who was the first credible threat to Alexander-Arnold during his time in the first team. Bradley, 21, is praised for all-action versions, including against Real in the Champions League earlier this season.
Alexander-Arnold cannot help it, but noticed the potential of the Northern Irish and suggested in October that Liverpool would be in safe hands without him. In a Sky Sports interview, Alexander-Arnold was asked to select the young person who has the most potential of Bradley, Ben Doak, Stefan Bajcetic or Harvey Elliott.
“I like to speak with all these boys, [Jarell] Quansah was also working on it, “replied the 26-year-old.” But I clearly speak to Conor, who is in the same position. I have seen Stefan from Young, how good he is and the potential he has. Also Harvey, incredible. I couldn't believe how young he was when he had his birthday.
“Ben Doak, really young again. The future star – he (Elliott) is injured, so I have to go with Conor. I like to play 90 minutes, but I know how good he is and I trust him to do the job and to help the team win the game.”
Is Conor Bradley good enough to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold in Liverpool? Say in the commentary part.
Slot agrees with the prediction of Alexander-Arnold and says: “I think it will be a bright future for him because he is a very good player and a very good players [are] What we need here in Liverpool. He is ready – especially last season – really good when he had to replace Trent, and now Trent has played a lot.
“But he is a very good player and although he has great competition from Trent, they normally find very good players their way to the team. That is what I also expect at this club in the future.”
Alexander-Arnold could have an icy reception when Liverpool is Bitter Rivals Everton in the Merseyside Derby host next Wednesday. The Reds are currently 12 points clearly at the top of the Premier League table.
