Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid transfer twist as Liverpool reach agreement

Trent Alexander -Arnold has been strongly associated with a move to Real Madrid and would conclude an agreement – but he could leave Liverpool before his contract ends on 30 June after FIFA has adjusted their rules

Liverpool was able to have Alexander-Arnold moved to Real Madrid early after he agreed to put the start of the transfer window forward to 1 June. Premier League clubs voted to break the summer window in two sections, the first of which runs from June 1 to June 10, to allow clubs to register players for the World Cup club.

This means that Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City can add new players to their team on time for the new FIFA tournament.

The window will then close again until June 16, before it will remain open before the summer until 1 September in line with other European competitions.

The “exceptional” window allowed by FIFA also applies to Madrid and other European clubs participating in the Club World Cup who want to change their squadrons.

Madrid has been haunting Alexander-Arnold for a while after seeing an £ 20 million bid for the English star in the January window.

Alexander-Arnold is one of the three major Liverpool players who can leave this summer as a free agent, next to Center-Back Virgil van Dijk and Vooruit Mohamed Salah.

Los Blancos could now finally close a deal for Alexander-Arnold, but the La Liga side would have to wait until his contract ends on 30 June to sign him for free. If they wanted to sign him for the club World Cup on time, they would have to pay a small fee to release him from his Liverpool contract early.

The new rules of FIFA would also allow the contract players to participate before 30 June, although it is still to be seen whether Liverpool would free Alexander-Arnold to leave for nothing.

According to a report from The Sun, Madrid would have to pay around £ 5 million to release him from his Liverpool deal early to compete alone in the new tournament.

It seems like a steep price to pay for a player they can sign for free only weeks later, but Madrid needs a new right back option after losing Dani Carvajal to a crucial ligament injury and he will only be available at least August.

In that position, Madrid has turned the will of Lucas Vasquez and Federico Valverde and can be tempted to bite the bullet to have filled in a good option. Having a larger team will be essential for teams that fear

They will be one of the controversial clubs to compete in the World Cup in America this summer, alongside Inter Milan, Juventus, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint Germain, Benfica and FC Porto.
