Arsenal must be “perfect” to topple Liverpool in the Premier League title race, says Leandro Trossard.
Mikel Arteta's sidestep leaves Liverpool four points clear heading into Saturday's action when Arne Slot's men visit Brentford before Arsenal later host Aston Villa.
Liverpool still have a game in hand, a rearranged Merseyside derby with Everton next month, putting Slot's side in control of the title race.
Trossard acknowledged that Arsenal cannot afford to make mistakes, as was the case against Manchester City in the past two seasons, if they are to secure glory at the top level.
“You have to be perfect every season,” Trossard told Sky Sports.
“It's been such a close race over the last four or five seasons. Everyone participates, it's not just the teams at the top of the table, everyone gets better every season, so it becomes more competitive.
“You need to be with you [A] play every match day. It's difficult, but we just have to keep believing and being ourselves and then we can achieve something.”

Injury problems have proven difficult for Arteta throughout the 2024/25 season, with Bukayo Saka still sidelined and Gabriel Jesus joining him after a cruciate ligament injury.
“The injuries are a big blow for us,” added former Brighton striker Trossard. “We know what Bukayo is [Saka] has shown for the club and Gabriel Jesus was doing well, those injuries are bad luck.
“We hope we can be ready in the meantime. It's up to us to be ready.”
The injuries to Saka and Jesus could push Trossard into a more central position, although Raheem Sterling came on on the right for last Sunday's 2-1 win against rivals Tottenham.
The Belgium international, who scored in the win against Spurs, is happy with whatever Arteta demands as Arsenal struggle with an injury-riddled season.
“We've had to twist some things around because of the injuries so that everyone gets their chance,” Trossard continued.
“Of course I'm always happy [to fill in up front]. I am always ready to play in any position on the field.”
