‘Truly frustrates me’ … Sean Strickland recalled ‘toughest’ training sessions with UFC boogeymen

While he is preparing for UFC 312, his old images again appeared from Sean Strickland who remembers his 'heaviest' sparring sessions with future top candidates in the gym.

'Tarzan' has cemented his place as one of the elite talents in the middleweight division of the UFC, because he gets a second chance at UFC Gold when he accepts Dricus Du Plessis in the main event of UFC 312.

The victory of Du Plessis against Strickland on UFC 297 was controversial and he has the opportunity to etch his name in the annals of UFC history with his revenge.

The fighting style of Strickland was notoriously difficult to deal with, but as he revealed before he fought against Uriah Hall in 2021, a different middleweight candidate and a certain light heavyweight gave him it difficult in the gym.

Sean Strickland explained how Magomed Ankalaev and Khamzat Chimaev gave him a difficult time in the gym

On the UFC Vegas 33 Media Day, Strickland explained how sparring hunters such as Magomed Ankalaev and Khamzat Chimaev frustrated him the most in the gym. Both Ankalaev and Chimaev would become no. 1 contenders within three years.

“Ankalaev. . . . The AF – Savage of the man, “noted Strickland. “He is a man who really frustrates me when I spar him. I notice that I am getting angry, I can't get f … you can't get you down. He is probably my most difficult rounds ever, Ankalaev. '

Recorded on 6'3 ″, Ankalaev will take on Alex Pereira for the light heavyweight belt on UFC 313. Strickland would do well to have competitive sparring with the number 1 competition in the division above his. The second name Strickland, however, is Chimaev, who could challenge the following title of the middleweight.

Strickland has previously told Chimaev that he is “better than everyone” in images behind the scenes.

'[Khamzat is] Good, man, he's good. He is very similar to me with work ethics, “Strickland explained. '[…] When he is in the gym, he does not stop; He doesn't slide. . . .. you are so of, “f – man, why don't you delay?” But you know, I'm sure he thinks the same thing about me. “

Sean Strickland vs. Khamzat Chimaev is closer than we think

In the light of Strickland ripping in Chimaev during the UFC 312 Fight week, the Flames could not burn burning for a potential resort like Strickland steals the throne.

'Borz' seems to have found his foot after a rocky few years, plagued by illness and weight problems, but his appearance at UFC 308 was professional. Chimaev Wowed by submitting Robert Whittaker in a round.

If not Strickland, an equally intriguing matchup with Du Plessis is an option for Chimaev.
